Experiencing the Supernatural Power of God Through Miracles

Miracles demonstrate the supernatural power of God breaking into the natural world. The Bible is filled with stories of miraculous works of God, from Genesis to Revelation. The greatest miracle of all is the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through His miracles, Jesus displayed His deity and sovereignty over nature and sickness.

But what does experiencing the supernatural power of God through miracles truly mean for us as believers?

God Still Does Miracles Today!

A Miracle Is Something Only God Can Do!

What is a Miracle?

A miracle can be defined as a divine invasion of God's supernatural power into this material world that overrides natural laws and circumstances.

Simply put - a miracle is something only God can do! It's when God shows up and shows off His power in our lives and circumstances.

Miracles include deliverance, protection, provision, guidance, healing, restoration, breakthroughs, and more. God still does miracles today!

As Christians, it's so important that we continue to pursue and experience the miraculous power of God.

Let's look at the fascinating subject of miracles as we reflect on two specific types: deliverance and healing. By exploring the biblical perspective on miracles, we aim to ignite our faith, inspire us to believe in God for miracles and equip us to walk in the power of God.

God is a Miracle-Working God

Job 5:9 describes God: “He does great things and unsearchable, marvelous things without number.”

God performs wonders beyond our comprehension and works miracles that simply cannot be counted. When we talk about miracles, we refer to times when God's supernatural power breaks into our natural world and overrides circumstances. More simply - a miracle is when God shows up and shows off!

Throughout the pages of Scripture, miracles abound. From Genesis to Revelation, we encounter a tapestry of divine intervention, where God showcases His extraordinary power through wondrous acts like parting seas, curing diseases, resurrecting the dead, and countless other displays of His might.

Let's take a look at some examples of God's miracle-working power when it comes to deliverance.

Deliverance

God Can Deliver His People From Impossible Situations

Miracles of Deliverance

God has proven time and time again His ability to deliver His people from impossible situations and lead them to victory.

God Delivered Israel From Slavery In Egypt

After 400 years of oppression, God powerfully intervened and brought them out. Just because we can't see God moving in a situation doesn't mean He isn't active behind the scenes!

"So the people believed; and when they heard that the Lord had visited the children of Israel and that He had looked on their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped." (Exodus 4:31 NKJV)

God Delivered Lot and His Family From Sodom and Gomorrah

Even while living in a corrupt and perverted culture, God protected Lot's family. He can protect our families too! We just need to trust and have faith in Him.

"And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow..." (Genesis 19:29 NKJV)

God Delivered Noah and His Family From the Flood

When the storms of life flood our lives, God provides an ark of safety. Just as He did for Noah, God will protect and deliver us from any disaster.

"The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth...And God remembered Noah..." (Genesis 7:17-18 NKJV)

God Delivered Jonah From the Belly of the Whale

Despite Jonah's disobedience, God showed mercy and gave him a second chance. His grace delivers us even from self-inflicted calamity.

"So the Lord spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land." (Jonah 2:10 NKJV)

God delivered Peter from prison - Peter was chained between soldiers, locked behind an iron gate, and scheduled for execution in the morning. But God is the ultimate deliverer!

“The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment." (2 Peter 2:9)

No matter what situation you find yourself in, take heart that your deliverance may be just around the corner. Don't give up hope!

Trust in God and have faith that He will deliver you, just as He did for Lot, Noah, Jonah, and Peter. Let their stories remind you of God's love, mercy, and power to save His people.

He remains constant throughout time. Trust Him to deliver you from life's storms and challenges. Keep a grateful heart and thank God for His continuous faithfulness. Remember, with God, all things are possible!

We Must Have Faith and Believe in God’s Healing Power

Miracles of Healing

In addition to working deliverance miracles, we also see God's miraculous power on display through supernatural healings throughout Scripture.

God desires to heal and demonstrate His goodness. Although I don't fully understand why some are not healed, I have seen God work healing miracles and know He is able!

Consider this example from Luke 13:

“And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen long years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” (Luke 13:16)

Jesus revealed the Father's heart to bring freedom and healing, not sickness and bondage. Is anything too difficult for God? No!

We also know from Isaiah 53 that a key aspect of Jesus' ministry would include bringing healing and deliverance:

“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows...He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:4-5)

Healing is not just a one-time event that occurred in the past; it is a promise for us today. Jesus paid the price on the cross for our physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.

Our Responsibility

It's important to remember that while God desires to heal and deliver us, we also have a part to play in receiving it. We must have faith and believe.

“...If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."(Mark 9:23)

Believe God for Your Miracle

It is encouraged to boldly believe in God for one's miracle. Whether one needs healing, deliverance, or divine intervention, let there be a sense of expectation!

God specializes in the impossible. He has proven Himself faithful throughout history and wants to display His goodness in your life. Don't doubt. Have faith in the supernatural.

Believe that God is who He says He is and can do what He says He can do. Trust in His promises and trust that He loves you and wants the best for you.

Let's believe in God for miracles!
