Day 21: How to Pray for People Who Need Jesus
The greatest miracle is a changed life. Who are you praying will meet Jesus this year?
The final day of our 21 Days of Prayer brings us to God's greatest priority:
People.
Every person you encounter has an eternal destiny.
Every coworker.
Every neighbor.
Every friend.
Every family member.
God desires for all people to know Him.
The Pray First Guide encourages believers to pray that:
God would draw people to Jesus.
Spiritual blindness would be removed.
People would experience God's love.
Believers would cross their paths.
They would receive wisdom and revelation.
Today, write down five names.
Pray specifically for them.
Pray boldly for them.
Pray consistently for them.
And ask God one more question:
"How do You want to use me?"
The mission of the Church was never simply to gather people inside a building.
The mission is to help people encounter Jesus.
As Cornerstone Church concludes these 21 Days of Prayer, may this not be the end of prayer.
May it be the beginning of a lifestyle of prayer, outreach, discipleship, and Kingdom impact throughout Midwest City, Oklahoma City, and beyond.
Because every great move of God begins when God's people pray.
Scripture
John 6:44
Prayer Focus
Father, draw people to Jesus. Use me to be a light in my community and help me faithfully share Your love with others.

Cornerstone Church in Midwest City, Oklahoma is joining believers around the world during 21 Days of Prayer. Whether you live in Midwest City, Oklahoma City, Del City, Choctaw, Harrah, Nicoma Park, or anywhere in Eastern Oklahoma County, we invite you to seek God with us through daily prayer, Scripture reading, and worship.
Day 20: Living in Victory Through Christ
We don't fight for victory. We live from the victory Jesus has already won.
The world often defines victory as achievement, success, or power.
The Bible defines victory differently.
Victory is Jesus overcoming sin, death, and the grave.
Because of Christ:
Sin does not have the final word.
Fear does not have the final word.
Evil does not have the final word.
Death does not have the final word.
Today, pray for spiritual breakthrough in:
Your family
Your community
Your church
Your nation
Unreached people groups around the world
Pray for revival.
Pray for awakening.
Pray for a fresh movement of God's Spirit across America and throughout the nations.
History shows that revival often begins when believers pray consistently and expectantly.
Scripture
Romans 8:37
Prayer Focus
Lord, thank You for the victory found in Jesus. Let Your Kingdom advance throughout our city, nation, and world.
Day 19: Finding Strength When Life Feels Overwhelming
Your strength may be limited. God's strength is not.
The demands of life can be exhausting.
Parents are tired.
Leaders are tired.
Pastors are tired.
Teachers are tired.
Healthcare workers are tired.
Even spiritually mature believers experience seasons of weakness.
The good news is that God specializes in strengthening weary people.
Isaiah promises that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
Today, pray for:
Church leaders
Missionaries
Teachers
Military personnel
First responders
Parents
Caregivers
Pray that God would strengthen those carrying heavy burdens.
The Kingdom of God advances when God's people remain spiritually strong.
Scripture
Isaiah 40:31
Prayer Focus
Lord, renew my strength and strengthen those who are serving, leading, and caring for others.
Day 18: Discovering God's Purpose for Your Life
Purpose isn't about building your kingdom. It's about advancing God's.
Many people spend years asking:
"What is God's purpose for my life?"
The answer begins with understanding that purpose is bigger than personal success.
God's purpose always includes people.
You were created to:
Love God
Love people
Make disciples
Serve others
Influence your world
Purpose is not something you discover once.
It is something you live daily.
Today, pray that God would:
Open doors of influence
Reveal opportunities to serve
Use your gifts for His Kingdom
Expand your impact beyond yourself
Pray for churches, ministries, missionaries, and nonprofit organizations that are helping people encounter Jesus.
The world changes when ordinary people embrace extraordinary purpose.
Scripture
Jeremiah 29:11
Prayer Focus
Lord, use my life for Your purposes. Help me see opportunities to make an eternal difference.
Day 17: How to Pray for Healing in Our Communities
Healing is one of the most visible expressions of God's compassion.
Throughout the Gospels, Jesus continually moved toward people who were hurting.
Today, healing is still needed.
People need:
Physical healing
Emotional healing
Mental health healing
Relational healing
Spiritual healing
Entire communities need healing.
Families are fractured.
Veterans are hurting.
Students are struggling.
Marriages are under pressure.
As believers, we can pray boldly while trusting God's wisdom.
Today, pray specifically for:
Hospitals
Medical professionals
Counselors
Veterans
Families in crisis
Those battling illness
Ask God to bring healing to Midwest City, Oklahoma City, and communities around the world.
Scripture
Psalm 103:2-3
Prayer Focus
Lord, You are our Healer. Bring healing wherever there is pain and restoration wherever there is brokenness.
Day 16: Why the World Needs Bold Faith
Faith is believing God is working even when you cannot yet see the results.
Fear has become one of the defining characteristics of our culture.
People fear:
The future
Economic instability
Political uncertainty
Health concerns
Global events
Faith doesn't deny reality.
Faith trusts God despite reality.
Hebrews tells us that faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Throughout history, great movements of God have always been preceded by people who believed God could do more.
Today, pray for greater faith:
Faith in your church
Faith in your family
Faith among believers across America
Faith among missionaries around the world
Pray that God would raise up a generation willing to trust Him completely.
The future of the Church has never depended on culture.
It has always depended on faith.
Scripture
Hebrews 11:1
Prayer Focus
Lord, increase my faith. Help me trust You more than I trust circumstances.
Day 15: How to Pray for Peace in a Divided World
The world doesn't need more outrage. It needs more people carrying the peace of Christ.
Turn on the news for five minutes and you'll quickly see that peace is in short supply.
Political division.
Global conflicts.
Social tension.
Economic uncertainty.
Many people feel overwhelmed by everything happening around them.
Yet Jesus made a remarkable promise:
"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you."
Biblical peace is not the absence of conflict. It is the presence of God in the middle of conflict.
As believers, we are called to pray for peace at every level:
Peace in our homes
Peace in our communities
Peace in our nation
Peace among world leaders
Peace in places experiencing war and unrest
Prayer reminds us that while headlines may change daily, God remains sovereign.
Today, spend time praying for:
Government leaders
Military personnel
First responders
Families affected by violence
Nations experiencing conflict
As followers of Jesus in Midwest City and throughout Oklahoma, we have an opportunity to be peacemakers in a world desperately searching for hope.
Scripture
John 14:27
Prayer Focus
Lord, fill me with Your peace. Let Your peace flow through me into my family, workplace, community, nation, and world.
Day 14: How to Pray for Others Through Intercession
Someone's breakthrough may begin with your prayer today.
At the deepest part of the Tabernacle was the Ark of the Covenant—the place representing God's presence.
From that place of intimacy comes intercession.
Intercession simply means praying on behalf of others.
Many people around us desperately need prayer:
Family members
Friends
Neighbors
Church leaders
Government leaders
Teachers
First responders
Intercessory prayer moves us beyond self-focused faith.
It teaches us to carry the burdens of others.
Today, create a list of five people who need God to move in their lives.
Pray specifically for them.
Pray boldly for them.
Pray consistently for them.
Throughout Midwest City, Oklahoma City, Del City, Choctaw, and Eastern Oklahoma County, there are people whose eternity may be impacted because someone faithfully prayed.
Perhaps that someone is you.
Scripture
1 Timothy 2:1-4
Prayer Focus
Lord, help me become an intercessor. Place people on my heart and teach me to faithfully pray for them.
Day 13: The Power of Worship in God's Presence
Worship isn't a reaction to good circumstances. It's a response to a good God.
The altar of incense represented worship continually rising before God.
Worship is more than singing.
Worship is responding to God's worth.
When we worship:
Our focus shifts
Our faith grows
Our hearts soften
God's presence becomes more evident
Some of the greatest breakthroughs in Scripture occurred during worship.
Paul and Silas worshiped in prison.
David worshiped in hardship.
The early church worshiped amid persecution.
Worship reminds us that God deserves praise regardless of circumstances.
Today, spend time worshiping.
Not because life is perfect.
Because God is worthy.
Scripture
Psalm 34:1
Prayer Focus
Lord, teach me to worship You in every season. Let praise become my response to both blessings and challenges.
Day 12: Why God's Word Should Shape Your Prayers
The Bible doesn't just inform your prayers. It transforms them.
The lampstand inside the Tabernacle provided light.
God's Word does the same for us today.
Many believers struggle with knowing what to pray.
One of the most effective solutions is praying Scripture.
When we pray God's Word, we align our prayers with His promises.
God's Word:
Strengthens faith
Reveals truth
Provides wisdom
Brings encouragement
Exposes lies
Instead of praying vague prayers, pray specific promises from Scripture.
If you need peace, pray Philippians 4.
If you need strength, pray Isaiah 40.
If you need wisdom, pray James 1.
The Bible is more than information.
It is spiritual nourishment.
Scripture
Psalm 119:105
Prayer Focus
Lord, help me love Your Word. Teach me to pray Your promises and trust Your truth.
Day 11: How to Pray for the Holy Spirit's Guidance
The Holy Spirit isn't distant. He is present and ready to guide you today.
One of the most overlooked aspects of prayer is our relationship with the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is not merely a force or influence.
He is God.
Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would guide, teach, comfort, convict, empower, and strengthen believers.
Many Christians attempt to navigate life through their own wisdom when God has provided a divine Helper.
Today, ask the Holy Spirit to:
Lead your decisions
Guide your conversations
Reveal God's truth
Strengthen your faith
Empower your witness
The Holy Spirit works in everyday moments.
He guides parents.
He directs business leaders.
He comforts grieving hearts.
He provides wisdom during uncertainty.
As believers across Midwest City and Eastern Oklahoma County seek God together, may we become more aware of the Spirit's leading.
Scripture
John 16:13
Prayer Focus
Holy Spirit, fill me today. Guide my thoughts, words, and actions. Help me follow Your leading.
Day 10: How God Cleanses and Renews Our Hearts
Confession isn't about condemnation. It's about freedom.
Inside the Tabernacle stood a bronze basin where priests washed before entering deeper into God's presence.
This washing symbolizes spiritual cleansing.
Every believer needs regular moments of confession and repentance.
Confession is not about shame.
Confession is about freedom.
God already knows our struggles.
He already sees our failures.
He already understands our weaknesses.
Yet He invites us to bring them into the light.
Many people carry unnecessary guilt because they never fully surrender their mistakes to God.
Scripture promises that if we confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive and cleanse us.
Today, ask God to search your heart.
Invite Him to reveal:
Wrong attitudes
Unhealthy habits
Pride
Bitterness
Areas needing surrender
God doesn't expose these things to condemn you.
He exposes them to heal you.
Scripture
Psalm 139:23-24
Prayer Focus
Lord, search my heart and reveal anything that separates me from You. Cleanse me and create a pure heart within me.
Day 9: The Power of the Cross in Daily Prayer
The cross isn't just where your faith began. It's where your confidence comes from every day.
The bronze altar in the Tabernacle reminds us of the greatest sacrifice ever made.
Jesus willingly gave His life so we could experience forgiveness, freedom, healing, and eternal life.
The cross changes everything.
Because of the cross:
We are forgiven.
We are redeemed.
We are reconciled to God.
We are adopted into His family.
We have direct access to God's presence.
Prayer becomes powerful when we remember what Jesus accomplished.
Many believers spend their lives trying to earn God's approval. The cross reminds us that approval was already purchased through Christ.
Today, spend time reflecting on the sacrifice of Jesus.
Consider the price He paid so you could confidently approach God.
Whether you're praying from Midwest City, Oklahoma City, Del City, Choctaw, or anywhere in Oklahoma, you never approach God based on your performance.
You approach Him through Jesus.
Scripture
Hebrews 4:16
Prayer Focus
Jesus, thank You for the cross. Thank You for forgiveness, grace, and access to the Father. Help me never take Your sacrifice for granted.
Day 8: Why Thanksgiving Should Be the First Step in Prayer
Gratitude changes what you see. Before you ask God for anything today, thank Him for everything.
Before entering the Tabernacle, worshipers first came to the outer courts. The Bible tells us to enter God's gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.
Many people begin prayer by immediately presenting a list of needs. While God certainly welcomes our requests, Scripture teaches us that gratitude prepares our hearts to encounter Him.
Thanksgiving reminds us of God's faithfulness.
When we intentionally remember what God has done, our faith grows for what He will do.
Think back over the last year.
Where has God provided?
Where has He protected?
Where has He guided?
Where has He shown mercy?
Too often we focus on what God hasn't done while forgetting everything He already has.
Today's challenge is simple. Before asking God for anything, spend five minutes thanking Him.
Thank Him for:
Salvation
Family
Church
Provision
Health
Friendships
His presence
As Cornerstone Church gathers throughout Midwest City and the Oklahoma City metro during these 21 Days of Prayer, gratitude can transform our perspective.
A thankful heart is fertile ground for faith.
Scripture
Psalm 100:4
Prayer Focus
Father, thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You for every blessing I see and even the blessings I overlook. Help me live with a grateful heart.
Day 7: Trusting God's Power and Authority
Week One complete. Nothing is too hard for God. Keep praying. Keep believing.
The Lord's Prayer ends with confidence:
"For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever."
Prayer should always leave us with greater faith than when we started.
The same God who created the universe is still at work today.
Nothing is too difficult for Him.
Nothing surprises Him.
Nothing is beyond His reach.
As we conclude Week One, reflect on what God has already shown you during these 21 Days of Prayer.
Scripture
Jeremiah 32:17
Prayer Focus
Lord, I trust Your authority, power, and glory. Strengthen my faith and help me walk confidently in Your promises.
Day 6: Spiritual Warfare and Prayer
You don't fight for victory. Through Christ, you fight from victory.
Not every battle is physical.
The Bible teaches that we face spiritual opposition from an enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy.
The good news?
Jesus has already won the ultimate victory.
Prayer is how we stand in that victory.
Today, ask God to expose:
Fear
Lies
Temptation
Discouragement
Doubt
Then replace every lie with God's truth.
The name of Jesus remains powerful today.
Scripture
Ephesians 6:12
Prayer Focus
Jesus, help me recognize the enemy's lies and stand firmly on Your truth.
Day 5: The Power of Forgiveness in Prayer
Unforgiveness keeps us chained to yesterday. Forgiveness opens the door to freedom.
One of the greatest barriers to spiritual growth is unresolved unforgiveness.
Jesus taught us to pray:
"Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors."
Forgiveness does not excuse wrongdoing.
Forgiveness does not erase consequences.
Forgiveness does not mean trust is instantly restored.
Forgiveness means releasing your right to revenge and placing justice in God's hands.
The same grace God has extended to us is the grace He calls us to extend to others.
Today, ask God two questions:
Is there any sin I need to confess?
Is there anyone I need to forgive?
Freedom often begins with those questions.
Scripture
1 John 1:9
Prayer Focus
Lord, search my heart. Reveal any area where I need Your forgiveness and help me forgive others as You have forgiven me.
Day 4: Trusting God for Daily Needs
God may not show you the entire journey, but He will provide today's bread.
"Give us this day our daily bread."
God never promised to provide next year's grace today.
Instead, He promises daily provision.
Sometimes we want God to solve every future problem immediately. Yet throughout Scripture, God often provides one step at a time.
Daily bread.
Daily grace.
Daily strength.
Daily wisdom.
Today's prayer focus is surrender.
What burden are you carrying that belongs to God?
Perhaps it's:
Finances
Family concerns
Career decisions
Health challenges
Emotional struggles
Open your hands before God today and give those concerns to Him.
The God who feeds sparrows and clothes wildflowers is fully capable of caring for you.
Scripture
Psalm 121:1-2
Prayer Focus
Lord, I trust You with today's needs. Help me depend on You rather than my own understanding.
Day 3: How to Pray for God's Will
Prayer is not about convincing God to bless our plans. It's about aligning our hearts with His.
One of the most powerful prayers we can pray is also one of the most difficult:
"Your Kingdom come. Your will be done."
We naturally want God to bless our plans. Jesus teaches us to surrender our plans and pursue God's.
God's agenda has always included:
Reaching people far from Him
Strengthening His Church
Caring for the vulnerable
Restoring broken lives
Advancing His Kingdom
When we align our prayers with God's priorities, our hearts begin to align with His heart.
Today, pray for your church. Pray for your city. Pray for your leaders. Pray for people who do not yet know Jesus.
As Cornerstone Church joins believers around the nation during these 21 Days of Prayer, we believe God wants to do something significant in Midwest City and throughout the Oklahoma City metro.
Scripture
Luke 12:31
Prayer Focus
Lord, help me desire Your will more than my own. Let Your Kingdom come in my family, church, workplace, and community.
Day 2: Why Worship Matters in Prayer
Before Jesus taught us to ask God for anything, He taught us to worship.
"Hallowed be Your Name."
Worship shifts our perspective. It moves our attention away from our problems and places it back on God's greatness.
When we worship God as our Healer, we remember He still heals. When we worship Him as our Provider, we remember He still provides. When we worship Him as our Peace, we remember He is greater than our anxiety.
Many believers spend most of their prayer time focused on needs. While God absolutely invites us to bring our needs before Him, worship reminds us who is listening.
Today, spend time worshiping God through His names:
Jehovah Jireh — Provider
Jehovah Rapha — Healer
Jehovah Shalom — Peace
Jehovah Nissi — Victory
Jehovah Rohi — Shepherd
As you worship, you'll discover something remarkable. Your circumstances may not immediately change, but your perspective will.
Throughout Midwest City and the Oklahoma City metro area, countless people are carrying burdens today. Worship reminds us that God is bigger than every burden we face.
Scripture
Proverbs 18:10
Prayer Focus
Lord, today I worship You for who You are. You are faithful, holy, loving, and powerful. Help me trust Your character even when life feels uncertain.
