WE'RE LOOKING FOR A DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Cornerstone Church | Midwest City, Oklahoma

Cornerstone Church is growing, and we are looking for the right person to join our team as our next Director of Children's Ministry.

Cornerstone is a Spirit-filled church committed to helping people know Jesus, grow in their faith, find community, and make a difference. We believe church should be a place where people of every generation can encounter God, build meaningful relationships, and discover their purpose.

Children and families are an important part of who we are, and we are looking for a leader who shares that heart.

About the Position

Our Director of Children's Ministry will serve alongside an Assistant Director to provide leadership and oversight for children ages birth through 5th grade, including our Sunday and 1st Wednesday ministry environments.

We are not simply looking for someone who can lead a great children's service. We are looking for someone who can build a great children's ministry by building great people.

The right person will be passionate about reaching children, developing leaders, equipping volunteers, partnering with parents, and creating environments where kids genuinely love coming to church and are growing in their relationship with Jesus.

The Director will have responsibility for curriculum and the overall quality and direction of the ministry while training and empowering leaders and teams to carry out ministry during service times.

We're Looking for Someone Who:

  • Loves Jesus and has a genuine calling to minister to children and families.

  • Is Spirit-filled and aligned with the beliefs and values of Cornerstone Church.

  • Has experience in children's ministry and leadership.

  • Loves developing people and building teams.

  • Can recruit, train, coach, and empower volunteers and leaders.

  • Is creative, organized, dependable, and comfortable taking initiative.

  • Communicates well with children, parents, volunteers, and staff.

  • Can lead in a growing ministry and is willing to evaluate, improve, and make changes when needed.

  • Values collaboration and wants to be part of the overall ministry and staff team - not simply lead an individual department.

Responsibilities Include

Providing vision and leadership for Children's Ministry; selecting and overseeing curriculum; developing Sunday and Wednesday ministry environments; recruiting and developing leaders and volunteer teams; partnering with parents; coordinating special events and ministry opportunities; maintaining strong safety and ministry systems; managing ministry resources and budget; and working collaboratively with the pastoral and staff team.
