Hope Is Alive in Jesus

Who is Jesus, really — and what does He offer you?

The question of the ages

Who Is Jesus?

You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.Matthew 16:16

Scripture answers this question clearly. As C.S. Lewis famously put it, Jesus’s own claims leave us only a few options: either He was, and is, the Son of God — or He was a madman, or something far worse. What Jesus is not is merely a good moral teacher.

Jesus uniquely holds star-breathing, storm-calming, miracle-working power — and He’s also a personal friend who cares deeply about you. He is Immanuel: God with us.

The incarnation

Fully God. Fully Man.

Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a completely sinless life, and walked among us as one of us — while never ceasing to be God. He taught with an authority no one had ever heard before, healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, and had power over sickness, storms, and even death itself.

He was crucified for sins He never committed, was buried, and on the third day rose bodily from the grave — defeating sin and death once and for all. He ascended to the right hand of the Father, and Scripture promises He is coming back.

Why Jesus Came

Why Did Jesus Come?

Jesus said it Himself: He came “to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10). He didn’t come to condemn the world, but so the world could be saved through Him (John 3:17). He came to close the gap sin created between us and God and to offer every person — no matter their past — a full, abundant life (John 10:10).

Jesus Cares

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). No amount of self-improvement can bridge the gap sin created — but God’s love for you in Christ Jesus cannot be separated from you.

The Resurrection Changes Everything

Jesus didn’t stay in the grave. His bodily resurrection is the proof that He has power over sin, death, and everything you’re facing right now. Because He rose, your story doesn’t have to end where it feels stuck today.

Good to know

Common Questions about Jesus

How do I become a Christian?

Turn from your old way of life, believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9). Then connect with a church family — we’d love to help you take your next step.

Is Jesus the Son of God?

Yes. Cornerstone Church believes in the full deity of Jesus Christ — His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, bodily resurrection, and coming return. See our statement of faith.

Why did Jesus have to die?

Sin separates every person from God, and Jesus’s death paid the price we couldn’t pay ourselves. His resurrection proves that price was accepted — offering forgiveness and new life to anyone who trusts in Him.

What happens after I ask Jesus into my life?

You start a real relationship with God, and we’d love to help you take your next steps — connecting with our team, joining a Connect Group, and growing in your faith through baptism and Scripture.
